Wi-Fi - Connect to JCCC Secure Network-JCCC Employees and Credit Students

Overview


This article describes how to connect to the JCCC secure Wi-Fi network in various operating systems and devices.

Instructions


Windows Operating System (11 and higher):

  1. At the bottom-right corner of your screen, select the Wireless Network Connection icon.
  2. Select the Arrow next to the wireless network icon.
  3. Select the JCCC wireless network.
  4. Check the check box to “Connect automatically
  5. Select Connect.
  6. Select Connect.
  7. Enter JCCC email and password.
  8. Select OK to continue.
  9. Select Connect if you see a message “Continue connecting?

Windows Operating System (10 and lower):

  1. At the bottom-right corner of your screen, select the Wireless Network Connection icon.
  2. Select the JCCC wireless network.
  3. Check the check box to “Connect automatically
  4. Select Connect.
  5. Enter JCCC email and password.
  6. Select OK to continue.
  7. Select Connect if you see a message “Continue connecting?

Once connected, the Wireless Network Connection icon will display the strength of your connection by coloring the bars. Place your mouse cursor over the Wireless Network Connection icon, and the JCCC network should display “Internet access”.

Mac OSX:

  1. At the top right corner of your screen, select the wireless (AirPort) drop-down menu.
  2. If your AirPort is not active, select Turn AirPort On.
  3. Select JCCC.
  4. Enter your JCCC email and password.
  5. Select the “Remember this network” checkbox if you would like your device to connect without logging in again.
  6. Select the Join to continue
  7. You may be prompted to verify a security certificate. Select Continue.
  8. You may be prompted to login to make changes to your certificate settings.
    1. Login with your personal Name and Password that you use to login to your Mac (most likely not your JCCC login, unless it is a JCCC device.)
    2. Select Update Settings to continue
  9. Once connected, a checkmark will show next to the JCCC wireless network in your AirPort drop-down menu.

IOS Device:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open Wi-Fi.
  3. Under Choose A Network Select JCCC.
  4. Enter JCCC email and password and select Join.
  5. If a certificate message opens, select Trust in the upper right corner.
  6. Device will now be connected to the JCCC network.

Android Device (Version 10 and lower):

  1. On an Android device, navigate to the Settings application.
  2. Inside settings, look for the Wireless & Networks group. Select the Wi-Fi option.
  3. Select JCCC from the list of wireless networks.
  4. Select PEAP for the EAP method.
  5. Select MSCHAPV2 for Phase 2 Authentication.
  6. Select Do not validate for CA Certificate.
  7. Enter JCCC.edu for the domain (if requested). 
  8. Enter your JCCC email in the Identity box.
  9. Leave the anonymous identify box blank.
  10. Enter your JCCC Password in the Password box.

Android Device (Version 11 and higher):

  1. On an Android device, navigate to the Settings application.
  2. Inside settings, look for the Wireless & Networks group. Select the Wi-Fi option.
  3. Select JCCC from the list of wireless networks.
  4. Select PEAP for the EAP method.
  5. Select MSCHAPV2 for Phase 2 Authentication.
  6. Select Use system certificates for CA Certificate.
  7. Select Do not validate for Online Certificate Status.
  8. Enter JCCC.edu for the domain.
  9. Enter your JCCC email in the Identity box.
  10. Leave the anonymous identify box blank.
  11. Enter your JCCC Password in the Password box.

Chromebook:

  1. On an Android O/S device, navigate to the Settings application.
  2. Inside settings, look for the Wireless & Networks group. Select the Wi-Fi option.
  3. Select JCCC from the list of wireless networks.
  4. Select PEAP for the EAP method.
  5. Select MSCHAPV2 for Phase 2 Authentication.
  6. Select Do Not Validate or Unspecified for CA Certificate.
  7. Enter your JCCC email in the Identity box.
  8. Leave the anonymous identify box blank.
  9. Enter your JCCC Password in the Password box.
